Invisable fixed braces- Lingual braces
The invisable fixed braces WIN (lingual braces) are the most modern type of fixed braces as they are manufactured individually for each patient (DW Lingual Systems, Bad Essen, Germany®) and offer the highest degree of precision and predictable treatment results. The lingual attachment of the brackets also offers a big advantage in terms of dental care and the risk of permanent tooth damage due to inadequate dental care during treatment. The tongue and saliva ensure constant cleaning on the inside braces and thus reduce the risk of permanent tooth damage (decalcification) by about 90%. We are spezialized in lingual treatment for adult patients.
Lingual braces correct all types of malocclusions even difficult cases. Treatment progress is also immediately visible as the desired tooth movement is programmed into the bracket system WIN which guarantees a fast and perfect treatment result.
Invisalign® / Aligners
The invisable braces Invisalign® are transparent and removable splints that can correct tooth misalignments reliable and almost invisible. The Invisalign® aligners have to be changed consistently by the patient every 7 to 14 days and at least been placed onto the teeth for around 22 hours a day.
Dysgnathia treatment
In the case of extremely severe jaw misalignments in adults, function of the jaws and facial aesthetics are significantly impaired. Therefore orthodontic treatment will be combined with a dysgnathia treatment in terms of maxillofacial surgery.
In a combined orthodontic-maxillofacial surgical treatment first the misaligned teeth are corrected with the help of fixed braces and the dental arches prepared for surgery. Secondly dysgnathia treatment in terms of maxillofacial surgery places the jaws in the ideal position.
Orthodontics & dentures/prosthetics
Pre-orthodontic treatment before the insertion of dentures can often be useful to ensure the functionality and longevity of dentures. This is performed in cooperation with your family dentist. In preparation for a subsequent treatment with new dentures such as a bridges, crowns or implants, dental gaps can be enlarged or reduced with orthodontic treatment before final dentures is going to be inserted.
Log life retention
In order to stabilize the treatment result achieved by the orthodontist in the long term retention is an important part of orthodontic treatment. Since teeth tend to misalign throughout life especially due to structural changes in the human body, relapse can occur even many years after successfully completed orthodontic treatment. In order to prevent a relapse we recommend annual monitoring by the orthodontist. even after successful treatment. Long life retention means fixed retainer and removable appliances in addition.
Fixed retainers (see photo) offer the greatest guaranty against a relapse. The fixed retainers are individually manufactured and are invisible from the outside.
Temporomandibular joint
Tooth and jaw misalignments can have an impact on the temporomandibular joint and also on the entire human musculoskeletal system and cause musculoskeletal disorders. This is particularly evident in the case of craniomandibular dysfunction (TMJ). This can cause pain as well as cracking and rubbing noises in the area of the temporomandibular joints. Often this pain can also occur in the area of the masticatory muscles or spread to the neck. In particularly severe cases it can even lead to tinnitus.
